Who will make socialism?
http://socialistworker.org/2011/07/07/who-will-make-socialism
In the long term, we have a choice: We can be ruled by the bosses, bankster frauds, militarists and the rest of the plutocracy, or we can be ruled by ourselves. We can be told what to do, or we can decide what to do on our own. The right, the moderates, the 'liberals' and the Utopians all are for us being told how to live and what to do.
The choice is clear.

Obama’s budget summit
Obama's the best thing that could have happened to the Republicans. Not only does he allow them to run against anything to the left of reactionary, he carries out the reactionary policies they favor. We're getting what we deserve for electing him and his fellow faux leftist Democrats. By the time the general populace realizes this, it will be too late (and probably already is).
What's bothersome is that there's no left opposition willing to run against Obama.

Where socialism was in the air

This was an excellent conference. It was my third, and it was outstanding. You should, if you tend toward even a left stance, take the opportunity to attend one. I am anxiously awaiting next year!
BTW: The G8's in Chicago next May. Anybody want to go?

Germany’s phase out of nuclear power: The pathos of national unity
Germany’s phase out of nuclear power: The pathos of national unity
National unity...bipartisanship...it's all the same. Sell out the workers in return for support from the bosses and bankster frauds. The institutional Greens are no better than any other group sharing power right now. Until that dynamic is broken, the bosses and bankster frauds will continue to win.

Banks secure own interests at Greece’s expense
Banks secure own interests at Greece’s expense
No surprise here. The likelihood is that Greece will default. The bankster frauds will try to keep that from happening to save their wretched skins. The game goes on.
