Dennis Kucinich: Labor Day Speech
How long can the bosses keep the plants and offices open if workers don't show up? How long would this country's economy function if workers were to walk out? You know the answer. Perhaps it's time that we remind the bosses, bankster frauds and politicos what the answer is.

Big banks grow more powerful under Obama
Umm...surprise, surprise.
Original article, by Andre Damon, via World Socialist Web Site:
When you put the bankster frauds in charge of the economy, how can you be surprised that the banks have grown even more powerful? If your an Obama fan, consider this question. At best, we're going to rebuild the economy based on the same recipe that we've just gone through that led to our economic collapse. At worst, the same thing.
Original article, by Andre Damon, via World Socialist Web Site:
The Washington Post carried an article last week outlining the immense consolidation that has taken place in the US banking system as a result of the policies of the Bush and Obama administrations in response to the financial crisis.
The article, entitled “Banks ‘Too Big to Fail’ Have Grown Even Bigger,” reports how the largest banks have consolidated control over a greater share of financial markets and are using their monopolistic position to increase their profits by raising fees and interest on consumers and small businesses.
“The oligopoly has tightened,” said Mark Zandi of Moody’s Economy.com, who is quoted in the Post article. “There’s been a significant consolidation among the big banks, and it’s kind of hollowing out the banking system,” he added.

Germany: Big losses for the conservative CDU in state elections
Original article, by Peter Schwartz, via World Socialist Web Site:
Add this to the Japanese elections, and you begin to see that people are ready to set aside the ones who've brought us this economic mess. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out!
The results of the three state elections held in Germany last Sunday provide a glimpse into the real state of social relations in the country.
In both Saarland and Thuringia, where a change of state government and politics seemed possible, considerably more voters turned out than five years ago. In both states the ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU) suffered dramatic losses, which the free market Free Democratic Party (FDP) could only exploit to a small degree. In the two states where the CDU previously had an absolute majority, the collapse of support for the conservatives was so pronounced that it now lacks the means to form a coalition with the FDP.
